Why use an absorbent food pad at all?
With rising cost pressure, a reasoned target for packaging removal could be the food pad from the case ready pack. The vast majority of established multiple food retailers however, see the use of meat pads, fish pads or "peach Pads" as not just an aid to aesthetics when looking to control blood/drip loss. Food technologists agree that the liquid exudations from fresh protein food sources poses a significant bio-hazard in the form of heavy microbacterial contents. The pad forms a defending barrier against the protein source being left in direct contact with this hazard and thus helps both extend shelf life and improve food safety.
